Dinner 4 foreigner

“Dinner 4 Foreigner” (Kolacja Ponad Granicami) is a project started by volunteers of Logos in Poznan (Poland) with the main moto “Stop Fear- Start curiosity”. We aim to break prejudices and to strength European values by involving people from different backgrounds (migrants/emigrants) into Polish society. We want to raise awareness and curiosity among Polish community towards other cultures which would, in return, help to provide integration of foreigners, to avoid misunderstandings or fear based on stereotypes and to increase the general level of multicultural knowledge by using a fantastic tool – food.

The project is taking place at Poznan throughout since spring 2019. Our Logos team are connecting Polish families and foreigners via international dinners, food event in a cafe run by foreigners and picnics. We aim to reach as many families as we can, through school presentations, social media and during many other local events. Participants will share their culture, life views and, of course, favourite traditional food.
“Dinner 4 Foreigner” (Kolacja Ponad Granicami) was started by Logos NGO with the support of the European Youth Foundation and the Council of Europe.
Now in 2020-21, our volunteers are running this project with the support of European Solidarity Corps.

The opportunity....

The opportunity....Youth workers from Poland 🇵🇱 are welcome to apply for the project on the topic of migration in that will happen in Turkey 🇹🇷

📅 When: 18-26 March 2020
🌏 Where: Adana, Turkey

💡Info about the project:
Migration largely affects youth, taking into account that a tangible percentage of migrants are young people. In reality, many young people face discrimination at schools, universities and very often are subject to bullying. Nevertheless, youth are frequently excluded from the public debates and discussions and their voice is not heard in the majority of cases. As a reaction towards the recent migration crisis, partners decided to develop a training course with the aim to empower youth workers to use intercultural dialogue as a tool in combating intolerance towards migrants, fostering mutual understanding and creating better integration mechanisms in shaping more inclusive Europe.

📌 Objectives:
☑️ To provide a conceptual framework on main notions, such as emigration, immigration, integration, interculturalism and multiculturalism
☑️ To reflect on emigration and immigration situation in participating countries and find out the reasons of migration, namely push and pull factors
☑️ To discuss and analyze the current migration challenges in Europe and try to offer solutions from the perspective of youth work
☑️ To foster tolerance, respect and open-mindedness towards migrants while working with young people
☑️ To share experiences and best practices of integration mechanisms

👨‍💻👩‍💻Participant’s profile:
