Training Course

Training course (TC)  are opportunities for youth workers, NGO activists and youth leaders to develop new skills and knowledge. Each training course is devoted to some specific topic.

Training courses are available for youth workers who are 18+ years old. Accommodation and food are provided. Moreover, the travel cost is covered.

💡Info about the project:
Over six days of activities – including study trips to central Berlin - the project will enable 28 participants from 8 European countries to explore the history of the Cold War in Europe. At a time when the European project is challenged on a number of fronts, from Brexit to the rise of inward-looking nationalism, ‘Learning from History’ will show the important role that history education has to play for making the positive case for Europe and for promoting our common European values. Over six days of activities – including study trips to central Berlin - the project will enable 28 participants from 8 European countries to explore the history of the Cold War in Europe.The training course will develop participants’ capacities to use history as a tool for fostering the critical thinking competencies of young people.

📌 Objectives:
☑️ To develop and practice specific non-formal learning tools that are applicable for engaging young people in history learning
☑️ To use the case study of the divided city of Berlin during the Cold War to deepen participants understanding of European History
☑️ To provide participants with methods for evaluating historical sources and thereby empowering them to combat fake news and manipulative propaganda

👨‍💻👩‍💻Participant’s profile:
- Aged 18+
- At least intermediate level of English
- An active youthworker / youth leader / trainer / teacher or looking to work with youth in the future

💴Finance:

Thus, it is easy to be attacked by fake news, hoaxes, propaganda, etc. This project is devoted to raise the level of media literacy among young people. For the last year, Russian Federation intervened in the domestic politics of all these countries throughout the past year. Mainly, it happened as well because of the lack of knowledge how does modern media work. Therefore, we invite you to debunk myths, hoaxes, and fakes together.

📌Objectives:
☑️ To develop the knowledge of media literacy and critical thinking 
☑️ Analyze media effect, literacy and develop strategic approach to manage them, as well as
☑️ To increase skills of critical thinking as analysis, problem-solving, communication, creativity, open-mindedness
☑️ To get to know more closely about situation with media literacy in other countries 
☑️ To disseminate the results of the project by carrying out an open event in your country

👨‍💻👩‍💻 Participant’s profile:
- Aged 18-25 years
- Enthusiastic about the topics of media literacy and critical thinking

The aim of the project is to develop the ancient cultural artefact of the mask as a cutting-edge pedagogical tool. The ‘Expressive Mask’ project builds on the already well established and proven pedagogical methodology and tradition of physical theatre, adding an innovative new element: sculpting and working with masks. The project will engage participants on an extra cognitive level though their participation in an extended creative process, providing a clear methodology for facilitating identity exploration amongst young people and cultivating self-awareness, self-confidence and societal responsibility.  We will equip participants with the competences to use mask theatre as an inclusive learning tool, both in their local communities and in international youth work. In particular, the project aims to use the mask as a method for working with young people who are socially marginalised and who experiences key markers of disadvantage. The project will explore the ways in which mask theatre can be used to tackle social isolation and barriers to verbal expression and to stimulate community building, intercultural tolerance and dialogue.

📌 Objectives:
☑️ To teach participants how to model and construct expressive masks and for each participant to produce their own expressive mask
☑️ To provide participants with a foundation in the principles and methods of performative mask theatre through offering an immersive participatory learning experienced
☑️ To combine both above-mentioned elements to create a 1-hour mask theatre performance
☑️ To foster an environment of peer learning and equip youth workers with practical pedagogical tools that can be applied to their target groups
