Get your horizons expanded. Potenza, Italy, 2019

About the project:

Training course “Get your horizons expanded!” – Life action planning role game: stereotypes & critical thinking (Human rights life action role playing) gathered 23 young leaders and youngsters from 8 countries: Italy, Bulgaria, Poland, Cyprus, Latvia, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany. This training course was supported by the Italian national agency and hosted in Potenza by Youth Europe Service organisation. The idea of the project was developed by Logos and hosting organisation. It was delivered by Logos trainers - Nataliia Zatokovenko and Kaspars Folkmanis.

Project aim:

The aim of the project was to raise awareness about Human rights in spheres of stereotypes and critical thinking through making Human rights life actions role-playing games.

Objectives:

  • Spreading ideas of human rights protection
  • Providing youth workers with tools and knowledge on how to organise LARP games, which will bring ideas of human rights protection to greater amount of people;
  • Showing that dealing with human rights can be done in various ways through providing participants with ideas and methods on nonstandard, creative approach to human rights education
  • Creating working tools which can be used in local communities
  • Starting a network of youth workers in Europe who are ready to do LARP games on human rights by giving them an opportunity to practice this approach and creating a good atmosphere for connection between participants
  • Bringing understanding of nowadays problems in the human rights area through giving examples, ideas and theoretical knowledge during the project
  • Raising awareness of such human rights topics as discriminations, integrations.

LARP handbook

During the project, participants created 4 educational LARP games, which were combined to one file by the trainer at the project - Nataliia Zatokovenko. This handbook is available for anyone who wants to make educational LARP games.

Uploading…Critical Thinking. Potenza, Italy, 2019

About the project:

"Uploading... Critical thinking" was a training course that took place in Potenza, Italy between 6th and 14th of February, 2019 and was created by Logos and EURO-NET. This project was made within the framework of Skepsis movement. It was made and co-funded under Erasmus+ programme.

Project aim
The aim of the "Uploading…Critical Thinking" was to gather youth workers, trainers and leaders from 6 EU countries (Italy, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Spain, Greece) who would learn together about the international movement devoted to developing critical thinking and promotion of the media literacy skills among young people and to develop ideas for future activities and projects in terms of this movement.

Project objectives

  • Provide youth workers with tools and knowledge on the topic critical thinking and media literacy
  • Increase understanding of how media and social networks affect our perception
  • Increase media literacy among the participants
  • Develop skills of critical thinking among participants
  • Continue the work from YE in the sphere of building the concept, vision, brand, logo, motto, and possible activities for the movement devoted to the critical thinking and media literacy
  • Find common ground and innovative ideas for future partnership working using the skills and лnowledge of people from diverse backgrounds
  • Develop future projects on the topic
  • Raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries

Project results

Participants of the "Uploading…Critical Thinking" worked on the creation of various tools for developing critical thinking and media literacy skills. These tools are available in the folder below. Feel free to use them for your work.

Behind the reality. Bisceglie, Italy, 2018

What was it about?

“Behind the reality” was a training course that we did in Bisceglie, Italy on 1-9 of December, 2018. Project was powered by EUROSUD and Logos under Erasmus+ programme with funds from Agenzia nazionale per i giovani.

At this training course we had 30 young leaders and NGO activists from 10 countries. Our aim was to raise awareness about Human rights in spheres of migration and disabilities through making Human rights escape rooms.

We made 3 human rights escape room in spheres of children rights, domestic violence and gender equality

Following objectives were set for the project:

  • Spread ideas of human rights protection
  • Provide youth workers with tools and knowledge on how to organise escape rooms, which will bring ideas of human rights protection to greater amount of people, especially youth.
  • Bring understanding of nowadays problems in human rights area through giving examples, ideas and theoretical knowledge during the project
  • Create working tools which can be used in local communities
  • Show that dealing with human rights can be done in various ways through providing participants with ideas and methods on non-standard approach to human rights education
  • Start a network of youth workers in Europe who are ready to do quest rooms on human rights by giving them an opportunity to practice this approach and creating a good atmosphere for connection between participan
  • Raise awareness of such human rights topics as migration and disabilities.

How did it go?

The training course was delivered by trainers Emir Shevkiiev and Marko Boyko.

At the project our participants built 3 escape rooms and we invited local people to come and play. At the open even we had around 40 guests, who had a chance to learn and play at the same time. Even though we planned to have 3 games per room, we had so many guests that we prolonged and had around 5-6 games played in each room.

The rooms that participants built:

“I COUNT BEAR IT ANYMORE”

A group of longtime friends receive a phone call from Tina, the sister of one of their friends: Angela. Tina lives abroad and she’s worried about Angela because she hasn’t heard from her in a long time, so she asked the group of friends/participants to go to her house to check if they can find her and/or find out what is happening. Angela lives with her boyfriend and she seems to be leading a happy life.

“I want to be a child”

Aleksandra is an eleven years old girl who enjoys going to school and spending time with her friends. Her family is poor and they got an offer to send her away from her country to marry an older man. They accepted the offer without talking to Aleksandra first. Two weeks before the wedding she stopped going to school. Daniela is her neighbor and best friend and she tried to go to her house but Aleksandra’s parents always tell her off. Daniela, her classmate, went to the police because she was worried. They told her they can’t do anything until they have evidence. She decided to contact her classmates to help her find the evidence in Aleksandra’s house.

"Where is Anna"

Find information about mysterious Anna's disappear through following her last day step by step AND collect 4 cards (1 in each of her everyday life steps).

Educational goal of the room is to raise awareness for the Gender equality
issues happening around world. Underlining the problem of harassment in
different daily situations (public space, transport, workplace, nightlife etc. ) and the topic for human trafficking of women and transgender people.

Escape for human rights: Few m2 of different reality. Potenza, Italy, 2017

What was it about?

Training course “Escape for human rights: few m2 of different reality” happened in Potenza, Italy, on 12-20 of December, 2017. This project was implemented by Logos (Poland) and Euro-net (Italy) and funded by Italian National Agency.

At this training course we gathered 24 young leaders and NGO activists working with youth, on 7 days long training course with the aim to provide them with knowledge and skills needed for creation of escape rooms which could be used as learning tools when working with young people.

Following objectives were set for the project:

  • Spread ideas of human rights protection
  • Provide youth workers with tools and knowledge on how to organize escape rooms, which will bring ideas of human rights promotions to greater amount of people
  • Show that dealing with human rights can be done in various ways through providing participants with ideas and methods on non-standard approach to human rights education
  • To create working tools which can be used in local communities
  • Start a network of youth workers in Europe who are ready to do quest rooms on human rights by giving them an opportunity to practice this approach and creating a good atmosphere for connection between participants
  • Bring understanding of nowadays problems in human rights area through giving examples, ideas and theoretical knowledge during the project
  • To raise awareness of such human rights topics as gender discrimination, children rights and domestic violence

How did it go?

The training course was delivered by trainers Marko Boyko and Iryna Sytnik. Our participants built 3 great escape rooms and we invited local people to come and play. At the open even we had around 30 guests, who had a chance to learn and play at the same time.
