Feeling factory. Kolin, Czechia, 2019

What was it about?

Training course “Feeling factory” was implemented in Kolin, Czechia on 30 November - 8 December 2019. The project was hosted by CEFIG with trainers' team coming from Logos and AFR and funded by Czech National Agency.

We had 24 youth workers from 8 countries on 7 days long training course. Our aim was to raise awareness about such human rights issues as domestic violence, xenophobia and discrimination through making escape rooms, as well as understanding how to use escape rooms as a learning tool in order to create various activities at local communities.

Following objectives were set for the project:

  • Develop higher awareness of human rights topic in Europe
  • Provide participants with a specific educational tool - Escape Rooms
  • To tackle specific issues in our communities
  • To share the results of the project in local communities
  • Foster an idea of innovative methods in education to attract youth

How did it go?

This was the first time the project on escape rooms was implemented by Logos team in Czechia. The training course was delivered by trainers Emir Shevkiiev and Marko Boyko and junior trainer Anaïs Belliard and it was organised by the team of CEFIG.

At the project, we had a chance to build rooms in the hotel in the centre of Kolin. Our participants built 3 escape rooms connected to the topics of the training course and we invited locals to come and play. At the open event, we had around 30 guests, who had a chance to learn and play at the same time.

Story of Marie

The educational goal of the room is to raise awareness about sexual orientation discrimination.

Hello everyone, my name is X and I'm Marie's sister. I got your message asking if you could come to Marie's room to try to understand the reason why she tried to kill herself. I can't imagine what drove her to do this because she was always smiling and now she is at the hospital.

Boat ride

The educational goal of the room: create an environment for players to experience the refugee, create awareness about xenophobia.

You are immigrants that paid a high price to cross the sea to get to a developed country. You just want to have a better life. I am going to hand you to the boat’s captain that will escort you to your hiding place.

Happily ever after

The educational goal of the room is to raise awareness of domestic violence situations. The main goal for players during the game is to help their friend - Emma Brown, by finding her passport and ticket and escape from the room before her boyfriend finds her.

Escape Game For Your Rights! Riga, Latvia, 2019

What was it about?

We made training course “Escape game fro your rights!” in Riga, Latvia, on 06-15 of May, 2019. Project was implemented by the team of Logos Latvia and Logos Poland and funded by Latvian National Agency.

At this training course we had 21 young leaders and NGO activists working with youth, on 8 days long training course. Our aim was to raise awareness about Human rights in such topics as refugees and immigrants, gender equality and domestic violence and special needs. This was realised through constructing Human rights escape room, as well as understanding how to use it as a learning tool in order to create similar projects on Human rights back at local communities by youth and NGO workers who work with young people.

Following objectives were set for the project:

  • To spread ideas of human rights protection among participants, partner organisations and guests of the training course,
  • Equip youth workers and NGO workers who work with young people with tools and knowledge on how to organise escape rooms, to implement human rights education to diverse target groups
  • To create working tools which can be used in local communities
  • Demonstrate that dealing with human rights can be done in various ways through providing participants with ideas and methods on non-standard approach to human rights education
  • Bring an understanding of current challenges in the HR area through providing concrete examples, ideas and theoretical knowledge during project
  • To develop a network of youth workers and NGO workers who work with young people in EU who are ready to use quest rooms on human rights by giving them an opportunity to practice this approach and creating a good atmosphere for connection between participants
  • To raise awareness of human rights topics relating to refugees and immigrants; gender equality and domestic violence; citizens with special needs.

How did it go?

This project was very special for us as it was the first training course that we implemented in Latvia by Logos Latvia. The training course was delivered by trainers Emir Shevkiiev and Marko Boyko and it was organised by Jekaterina Orlova and her team.

At the project, we had a chance to build rooms in the building in the centre of Riga. Our participants built 3 great escape rooms and we invited local people to come and play. At the open event we had around 30 guests, who had a chance to learn and play at the same time.

The rooms that participants built:

FIRED

The educational goal of the room is to highlight gender-based workplace discrimination/harassment and gender-biases.

Main goal for players during the game is to collect evidence that a company is participating in unlawful gender-based discrimination by sneaking into the company office. And to find the key to get out of there within one hour by finding the extra set of keys inside the room.

Desrever Rorrim Yxalag (Reversed Mirror Galaxy)

Educational goal of the room is to give participants the experience of entering a new “culture” and its difficulties: new language, weird logics, new symbols, new way to communicate and a lot of “bureaucratic” procedures. We expect that people will be move sensitive towards the newcomers and more helpful when requested.

Main goal for players during the game is to find the procedure to get asylum and fulfil all tasks to get the final permit.

Classroom of special needs

Educational goal of this room is to let players experience the limitations of a disability. To do this each players gets a random limitation - reduced vision, movement, hearing or touch.

Main goal for players during the game is to escape from the classroom. That is hard to do with all the limitations set by the room, but if players manage to work as a team they will succeed!

Escape for reality 2.0. Vilagarcia, Spain, 2019

What was it about?

“Escape for reality 2.0” was a second training course about escape rooms that we did in Vilagarcia, Spain. First one happened a year before and as it was a success we applied and implemented second part of it on 18-24 of March, 2019. Project was powered by Arousa Moza and Logos under Erasmus+ programme with funds from Spanish national agency.

At this training course, we had 28 young leaders and NGO activists from 6 countries. Our aim was to raise awareness about Human rights in spheres of domestic violence, gender discrimination and immigrants rights abuse through making Human rights escape rooms.

This was a challenging project as we had only 5 days to do what we usually do in 7-8 days. But thanks to our great participants we managed it! We made 3 human rights escape room in spheres of domestic violence, gender discrimination and immigrants rights abuse.

Following objectives were set for the project:

  • Spread ideas of human rights protection
  • Provide youth workers with tools and knowledge on how to organise escape rooms, which will bring ideas of human rights protection to greater amount of people, especially youth.
  • Bring understanding of nowadays problems in human rights area through giving examples, ideas and theoretical knowledge during the project
  • To create working toolboxes with information about escape rooms making
    which can be used in local communities
  • Show that dealing with human rights can be done in various ways through providing participants with ideas and methods on non-standard approach to human rights education
  • Start a network of youth workers in Europe who are ready to do quest rooms on human rights by giving them an opportunity to practice this approach and creating a good atmosphere for connection between participan
  • Raise awareness of such human rights topics as domestic violence, gender discrimination and immigrants rights abuse.

How did it go?

The training course was delivered by trainers Emir Shevkiiev and Marko Boyko.

At the project, our participants built 3 escape rooms and we invited local people to come and play. At the open event, we had around 40 guests, who had a chance to learn and play at the same time. We managed to build these rooms in period of 1,5 days, which is a record for us, as usual, we spent 2-4 days for that.

Behind the reality. Bisceglie, Italy, 2018

What was it about?

“Behind the reality” was a training course that we did in Bisceglie, Italy on 1-9 of December, 2018. Project was powered by EUROSUD and Logos under Erasmus+ programme with funds from Agenzia nazionale per i giovani.

At this training course we had 30 young leaders and NGO activists from 10 countries. Our aim was to raise awareness about Human rights in spheres of migration and disabilities through making Human rights escape rooms.

We made 3 human rights escape room in spheres of children rights, domestic violence and gender equality

Following objectives were set for the project:

  • Spread ideas of human rights protection
  • Provide youth workers with tools and knowledge on how to organise escape rooms, which will bring ideas of human rights protection to greater amount of people, especially youth.
  • Bring understanding of nowadays problems in human rights area through giving examples, ideas and theoretical knowledge during the project
  • Create working tools which can be used in local communities
  • Show that dealing with human rights can be done in various ways through providing participants with ideas and methods on non-standard approach to human rights education

At the project our participants built 3 escape rooms and we invited local people to come and play. At the open even we had around 40 guests, who had a chance to learn and play at the same time. Even though we planned to have 3 games per room, we had so many guests that we prolonged and had around 5-6 games played in each room.

“I COUNT BEAR IT ANYMORE”

A group of longtime friends receive a phone call from Tina, the sister of one of their friends: Angela. Tina lives abroad and she’s worried about Angela because she hasn’t heard from her in a long time, so she asked the group of friends/participants to go to her house to check if they can find her and/or find out what is happening. Angela lives with her boyfriend and she seems to be leading a happy life.

“I want to be a child”

Aleksandra is an eleven years old girl who enjoys going to school and spending time with her friends. Her family is poor and they got an offer to send her away from her country to marry an older man. They accepted the offer without talking to Aleksandra first. Two weeks before the wedding she stopped going to school. Daniela is her neighbor and best friend and she tried to go to her house but Aleksandra’s parents always tell her off. Daniela, her classmate, went to the police because she was worried. They told her they can’t do anything until they have evidence. She decided to contact her classmates to help her find the evidence in Aleksandra’s house.

"Where is Anna"

Find information about mysterious Anna's disappear through following her last day step by step AND collect 4 cards (1 in each of her everyday life steps).

Educational goal of the room is to raise awareness for the Gender equality
issues happening around world. Underlining the problem of harassment in
different daily situations (public space, transport, workplace, nightlife etc. ) and the topic for human trafficking of women and transgender people.

EXIT for human right! Kyiv, Ukraine, 2018

What was it about?

We made training course “EXIT for human right” in Kyiv, Ukraine, on 09-18 of November, 2018. Logos and Soeholm 4H (Denmark) implemented this project, which was funded by Danish National Agency.

At this training course we had 24 young leaders and NGO activists working with youth, on 8 days long training course. Our aim was to raise awareness about Human rights in such topics as children rights, migration and life of people with limited abilities through making Human rights escape room, as well as understanding how to use escape rooms as a learning tool in order to create similar projects on Human rights back at local communities.

At this training course we made human rights escape room in spheres of discrimination of people based on children rights, migration and life of people with limited abilities.

Following objectives were set for the project:

  • To spread ideas of human rights protection among participants, partner organisations and guests of the training course
  • Provide youth workers and NGO workers with tools and knowledge on how to organise escape rooms, which will bring ideas of human rights protection to greater amount of people

How did it go?

This was our second project in Ukraine about escape rooms. The training course was delivered by trainers Emir Shevkiiev, Julia Zaitseva-Kirk and Marko Boyko.

Our project was supported by the museum of Ukrainian diaspora, which provided us with the space to create our rooms. Our participants built 3 great escape rooms and we invited local people to come and play. At the open even we had around 30 guests, who had a chance to learn and play at the same time.

After the project was over we kept one of the rooms built for participants in order to let other people come and play. It worked for 3 months and attracted players who could feel "in the skin" of a person with limited abilities. During its work, the room was administered by Logos members and volunteers. "Habibi migration"

Experience is the core of learning, escape room is the best experience and thus a great learning opportunity. In this case the topic is rights of migrants. Being in the room participants face a number of issues that are very likely to happen to migrants. They are often being treated like "less important" or "unimportant" beings and the goal of the game is to make people feel it and understand the whole seriousness of the situation by wearing the shoes of those, who have to leave their homelands in the search of better life. People may be sorry for others, who go through difficulties, but they never realize the essence of the issue unless they go through the same.

"Shit happens"

We want to teach people about the daily abuse and breaking of children's human rights. We want the player to go through the room with the feeling of being a child. The feeling of not being as human as the parents. This is done with the chaining at first, and then puzzle after puzzle that symbolizes the problems that children might face as they are growing older. A belt that symbolizes physical abuse and a computer that symbolizes the limitation of information.

"Superheroes wanted"

Hello everyone! Have you ever imagined yourself being a superhero? Today we will give you the possibility to become one and now you can choose your own superpower!

This room's goal is to raise awareness of people about people with disabilities.
We want players to better understand feelings of people with disabilities. To do that players will havwe to find a job, but they will have to do it with some obstacles they didn't think of before entering the room.

What was it about?

Training course “Escape for reality” happened in Vilagarcia, Spain, on 17-25 of February, 2018. This project was implemented by Logos and Arousa Moza (Spain) and funded by Spanish National Agency.

At this training course we gathered 24 young leaders and NGO activists working with youth, on 7 days long training course with the aim to provide them with knowledge and skills needed for creation of escape rooms which could be used as learning tools when working with young people.

At this training course we made human rights escape room in spheres of discrimination of people based on cultural, ethnic and religion background (migrants and refugees) and limited abilities.

Following objectives were set for the project:

  • Spread ideas of human rights protection
  • Provide youth workers with tools and knowledge on how to organize escape rooms, which will bring ideas of human rights protection to greater amount of people
  • Show that dealing with human rights can be done in various ways through providing participants with ideas and methods on non-standard approach to human rights education
  • To create working tools which can be used in local communities

How did it go?

This was third time when we used escape rooms for education. The training course was delivered by trainers Emir Shevkiiev and Marko Boyko. Our participants built 3 great escape rooms and we invited local people to come and play. At the open even we had around 30 guests, who had a chance to learn and play at the same time.

The rooms that participants built:

"aMAZEing Humans"

An alien race wants our earth. For colonization. But.. they have some sort of morality, so they will not invade us if we prove ourselves worthy. That means intelligent, kind, empathic and strong. So they will TEST us. Four to six people will start the test with their hands tighten, in a room. Fortunately, the aliens decided to make a time loop and test multiple persons in the same time, and the same place. Some of the previous successfully tested humans managed somehow to send us some information, written on a newspaper from the near future. And the game begins.

"AMNESIA"

Amnesia ER gives the players a sense of feeling and understanding that phenomenon of amnesia can relate to everyone in different ways (car accident, disease, traumatic experience ec.). A person suffering from amnesia is extremely vulnerable and exposed to the most horrifying criminal activities like
trafficking, torture, organs trade or murder. The room is designed in a way that the players who wake up inside of a room in a psychiatric hospital, discover their personal stories interlinked with amnesia cases must escape the room before those criminals will do the worst.

"Family reunion"

At the beginning of the game we introduce our players to the storyline of the room:
“ You have managed to run away from your country, which is in a state of war, and you have reached Spain. After a long procedure you have finally found a job in a clothes factory. But, unfortunately, your boss is a bad person and forced you to work as slaves and has locked you in the factory building. Part of your family has managed to escape from this horrible place and has also left the country. You need to follow the clues they left behind to find out where they are and go to read them.”

Training course “Escape for human rights: few m2 of different reality” happened in Potenza, Italy, on 12-20 of December, 2017. This project was implemented by Logos (Poland) and Euro-net (Italy) and funded by Italian National Agency.

What was it about?

Training course “Escape for human rights” happened in Kyiv, Ukraine, on 19-27 of October, 2017. This project was implemented by Logos (Ukraine) and Hea Hombre (Estonia) and funded by Estonian National Agency.

At this training course we gathered 24 young leaders and NGO activists working with youth, on 7 days long training course with the aim to provide them with knowledge and skills needed for creation of escape rooms which could be used as learning tools when working with young people.

At this training course we made human rights escape room in spheres of domestic violence, migration and life of people with limited abilities.

Following objectives were set for the project:

* To raise the level of key competences and skills needed to work with young people;

* To equip youth workers with tools and knowledge on how to organise escape rooms, which might be used in work with young people for various range of topics;

* To increase quality of youth workers and NGOs' approach when working with young people

* To create working tools which can be used in local communities;

* To improve education systems through the exchange of good practices and results;

At this training course we used escape room as an educational method for the first time. The training course was delivered by trainers Emir Shevkiiev and Marko Boyko. Our participants built 3 great escape rooms and we invited local people to come and play. "On the run to safety"

On the run to safety is an escape room about human rights and the topic of migration, refugees and asylum seekers. The room is an educational room that aims at giving a fun and interactive experience to the players, and at the same time raise awareness of the situation of migration and refugees worldwide. On the run to safety gives the players a sense of understanding and feeling of how it is to be a refugee and asylum seeker, that has to flee their home in order to reach safety. The room is designed in a way that the players are asylum seekers, who are on the run to safety during the game. Exiting the room means they have reached safety.

"Domestic violence: speak up"

This room is about the domestic violence and about the situations that people are facing in almost every country in the world. In this room you will have to understand what has happened to the family, which looked very happy at pictures.

"Trust me"

Once you enter the room, you get to know that you are a police investigation team which was called by a mother of the girl who has been missing for 2 days, she didn’t come back home. Mother is very much worried about missing daughter. The only thing that mother has found is daughter’s phone, which is locked. Task of the team (players) is to find out what happened to the girl.
